Serving

As a country, the United States is not as Christian as it once was. We are very quickly moving into a post-Christian society like much of Europe. Many who support foreign missions now recognize a great need for domestic missions here at home.

In the U.S., there are large areas becoming known as “single digit” regions. These are regions where the percentages of Christian profession and participation have fallen into single digits. Roughly 34% of the U.S. Population, that’s 73 million adults, have not attended any type of church service or activity in the last six months.

Of those who consider themselves regular church goers, almost half (46%) attend a church consisting of 100 people or less. Sadly, it’s America’s small churches that are struggling the most. It’s these smaller churches we desire to come alongside and assist.

The data shows a staggering 8,000-10,000 churches will close this year. Studies also show there are only 4,000 churches opening on average annually, with just 68% still open four years later. I think we would agree that much of the decline of Christianity in our country is a direct result of the decline of the North American church.

GracePoint is an itinerate ministry offering support and encouragement to struggling churches. Our family is prepared to serve in a variety of capacities including: interim pulpit service, mentoring/ discipleship training & development, small group studies, community outreach programs, information technology, marketing/design, assistance with facility needs, and more. We do so at little-to-no cost as many of the churches we assist simply cannot afford these services otherwise.

Our home is a fifth wheel RV and we serve wherever the Lord makes it clear we’re needed. Our desire is to further the influence of the local church, and encourage otherwise under-supported churches and ministries. Our goal is to enable these ministries to be more effective for Kingdom participation and gospel advancement.
